The Schwarzkopf Foundation’s vision is a Europe of openness, solidarity and democracy and a tolerant, open-minded and pluralistic European civil society. We want to empower young people from all backgrounds to be active European citizens contributing to a pluralistic, democratic society and mutual understanding.
Our events promote the dialogue between young people, decision makers, experts and time witnesses and create a space for the exchange of ideas.
The peer-to-peer network of the EYP aims to inspire and empower young Europeans to become open-minded, tolerant and active citizens.
Our seminars grant the participants a wide ranging training offer about democracy and diversity in Europe.
Annually we grant the Young European Award, the Schwarzkopf Europe Award and the Margot Friedländer Award. In addition, we support ca. 80 travel grantees on their journey through Europe.
Our new programme line promotes dialogue between young people and takes up questions on our migration society.
All young European between 14 and 28 are welcome to join our programmes. You can actively shape our projects as a participant, a trainer or as a multiplier.
Through our projects we offer young Europeans a platform for encounters and exchange. By doing so we try to foster their personal development and give them possibilites to engage further in the civil society.
We believe in a close and open dialogue with young persons from all over Europe. This grants us an insight into the topics that are most relevant to you.
Following the official liquidation of the National Committee representing the European Youth Parliament in Belarus by the government, the Belarusian KGB has actively started to target young people involved in activities of the youth organisation by conducting interrogations. The network as one of the biggest youth-led organisations in Europe stands in full solidarity with its affected members and participants. Read our press release.

In June, we and many other civil society organizations called on the Executive Board of the Conference to strengthen the inclusion of marginalized communities. Since the response did not include any concrete action, we have again addressed the conference – this time approaching all members of the plenary. The open letter can be co-signed until October 19, 2021 at 6pm CEST!
The Schwarzkopf Foundation is contributing to Conference on the Future of Europe with two projects. They aim to strengthen the participation of young people in the process of shaping the future of Europe.
