Europe’s economy and the responsibility for the young European generation. With René Obermann

In the United States, an entrepreneur is president, who campaigns for protectionism and isolation. The Brexit leads the British and the whole of Europe into an economically absurd and at the same time dangerous policy, which also heads towards isolation. In both cases, economic action was forcibly politicized. “That is why, as pro-European entrepreneurs, we should recognize this politicization, abandon our – at least public – restraint and fight for more Europe.” René Obermann recently said in an article in the newspaper ZEIT. Europe is the basis of our values, so in an age of rampant racism and authoritarianism, we need to step up our efforts to strengthen the EU, said Obermann.

What can and should entrepreneurs and companies do for the European idea? What are the most important topics – from an economic point of view – to shape Europe’s future? Could a political and economic pact fight youth unemployment? And what tasks should the European institutions take on in the future, where should priorities be set? We discussed these and other questions with you and René Obermann.
