From 7-10 May 2020, our Understanding Europe Coordinators held their bi-annual Coordinators\u2018 meeting, giving them the opportunity to update each other on the progress of the project in their countries, to exchange and support each other on common challenges and plans for the future.<\/p>\n

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions and health measurements that come with it, the meeting did not take place in Berlin at lake Wannsee as planned but was moved to digital spaces. Using online tools like zoom, basecamp and mural, our coordinators from 12 countries made use of the opportunity and came together, motivated as ever, to shape the future of the Understanding Europe network.<\/p>\n

Next to an introduction into our new Understanding Europe Database and a new funding structure for all projects in the network, the three freshly established Understanding Europe Working Groups got a chance to meet and present their plans to each other. The three working groups, which were formed out of the necessity to digitalise our activities, are working on Understanding Europe Social Media, Digital EU-Crash Courses, as well as Online Trainings and opportunities for exchange in the network.<\/p>\n

During all four days of the meeting, our volunteers upheld a fantastic and welcoming atmosphere, motivating each other to continue their efforts and activities also online in the upcoming months. We are excited to see the results of their work!<\/p>\n
